Wallingford

Wallingford is a cozy family neighborhood, with many older homes, tree-lined streets and a bustling commercial district. Additionally, it borders the Woodland Park Zoo – a favorite spot to visit for the many families that live in the community.
Wallingford was originally a working class neighborhood. Shingle mills, asphalt factories and the Seattle Gas Plant lured workers to Wallingford. Today, there are over 1400 businesses within a one mile radius of the Wallingford neighborhood. The community is home to at least that many home-based businesses as well.

Wallingford’s commercial district along North 45th street features a wide range of international restaurants, punctuated with bookstores, specialty gift shops, real estate agencies and other small businesses.
