Belltown
Nestled between Seattle’s Pike Place Market area and the Space Needle, Belltown is funky, hip neighborhood home to a large concentration of the city’s nightlife.
Belltown has loosely defined as the area bordered to the south by the central business district and stretching from Stewart Street to Mercer Street between First and Western avenues. Its core is at Second Avenue and Bell Street, which is the locus of a large number of luxurious condominiums, restaurants and nightclubs.
The neighborhood is home to all kinds of people, from young, hip tech-sector professionals to the chronically indigent. During the Internet boom that overtook Seattle in the late 90s, Many of the city’s best new restaurants were opened in Belltown, many of which remain.
Second’ Avenue’s The Moore Theatre, a historic concert hall, built in 1907, is a popular venue for rock shows and comedy tours. Upscale condos facing Elliott Bay’s magnificent views line up along First Avenue.
The residential demographic in Belltown is primarily a younger professional crowd, as well as some older empty-nesters who like having all the amenities of a vibrant downtown scene so close at hand.
