Woodinville

Back in the late 1800s and early 1900s, Woodinville was so heavily forested that the majority of the early residents were loggers and their families. And while many of the trees have made way for boutique wineries and a blossoming retail core, trees and their preservation remains at the heart of the character of Woodinville.

Since 1996 Woodinville has been a distinguished “Tree City USA” – a designation the city plans on keeping for the foreseeable future. Woodinville has incorporated the “preservation of its northwest woodland character” into its design and development guidelines.

The Spirit of Washington Dinner train travels to the Columbia Winery in Woodinville on every trip. Tourist oriented winery and brewery facilities have made Woodinville a popular destination for Puget Sound residents in recent years. Additionally, Woodinville has become a great place for concerts and outdoor movie festivals, held on the grounds of some of the local establishments.

Woodinville is also a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The Sammamish River trail runs through Woodinville and connects joggers, in-line skaters, cyclists, horseback rider and meandering strollers to Bothell or Marymoor Park in Redmond.  Trail uses can also access a non-motorized bridge to access the Tourist District Attractions.
