Lynnwood

Just over a century ago, a densely wooded area that would become modern-day Lynnwood attracted a San Francisco company that began cutting timber.

After the land was cleared, a community began to grow, and Lynnwood became an incorporated city in 1959. Nestled in the middle of more than a half dozen other communities, Lynnwood was originally nicknamed the "Hub City."

But the city's roots weren't completely chipped away. Lynnwood today boasts more than 245 acres of public parks, walking trails and open spaces perfect for picnicking. Now a city of more than 2,500 businesses, Lynwood is about 15 miles north of downtown Seattle.
