Bellevue

Whoever would have thought that tranquil strawberry and blueberry fields and other farms would have eventually given way to the thriving city with such a vibrant and busy downtown that is now present day Bellevue.  Bellevue didn’t become a city until 1953 and many residents still remember when they didn’t have a hospital on the east side of Lake Washington. Today, Bellevue is the fifth largest city in Washington State, a commercial and retail powerhouse and clearly the economic engine of East King County.

As traveling to and from “the Eastside” became easier with two bridges across Lake Washington, Bellevue and the rest of the Eastside blossomed. Housing developments and condos have exploded throughout nearly all neighborhoods as the high-tech companies have continue to attract many well paid workers to the region.

Despite Bellevue’s attraction for the business community, the city offers numerous cultural and natural resources for visitors and residents as well. World class performing arts, exquisite fine dining restaurants and a well regarded park system keep Bellevue residents and visitors entertained year round.
